Works on Gastronomy - 1939-1948 - The Wine and Food

Fantastic full set of Simon's famous Encyclopedia of Gastronomy in nine volumes with two additional pamphlets on wine from 1934 and 1935, housed together in a custom made clamshell box. Very hard to find a full set, let alone a set in this condition, with many seeming unopened.
On what would have been his 100th birthday in 1977, 400 guests gathered at the Savoy to drink to Simons's memory with Chateau Latour 1945 that he had left for the occasion.
