A complete six volume first edition set of Charlie Higson’s extremely successful Young Bond series, three of which are signed. Covering the adventures of a teenage James Bond whilst at Eton.
Consisting of SilverFin (number 966 of 999 limited signed first editions in slipcase), Blood Fever (signed first edition, in wrappers), Double or Die (first edition in wrappers, with original packaging giving the title as ‘Young Blood 3’), Hurricane Gold (number 979 of 1500 limited signed first editions, with publisher’s wraparound band), By Royal Command, and Danger Society : The Young Bond Dossier (with publisher’s wraparound band).
Together with the first of Steve Cole’s follow on novels ‘Shoot to Kill’ in which the young Bond attends Dartington Hall after being expelled from Eton in 1934. Notes: Young Bond 3 was untitled at this stage - the publishers were running an online competition for the public to decide the book title, with the winning name (Double or Die) embargoed until January 2007. The original packaging of the first edition, included here, teases the reader: "YoungBond 3: Which title? The nation has voted. Find out inside".
Charles Murray "Charlie" Higson (born 3 July 1958) is an English actor, comedian, author, and former singer, painter and decorator. As well as writing novels, he has written and produced for television, which included creating and starring in the hugely successful comedy series The Fast Show.
In 2004, it was announced that Higson would pen the Young Bond series of James Bond novels, a series aimed at younger readers. The books were to concentrate on the character's school-days at Eton. Higson was himself educated at Sevenoaks School, where he was a contemporary of Jonathan Evans, former Director General of MI5.
