Presumed first American edition, as dust jacket shows reviews from the British Press, published the same year as the first UK edition (Methuen, London). No mention of further printings to copyright page. Also seen in black cloth with pink lettering.

Thick octavo (book size 19.3x13.5cm), pp. 302 [2]. In publisher’s grey cloth, spine and upper board lettered in black, all edges trimmed. Dust jacket priced ‘$2.00’ to lower corner of front flap.
